Dynamics 365 2020 Release Wave 2 - Rich Text Editor Control

Dynamics 365 2020 Release Wave 2 brings "Rich Text Editor Control" which can be configured directly for multi-line text fields.

Let us walk-through the configuration steps.

We have a field "Description" on "Lead" entity which is multi-line text field and comes up in system as shown below -

To configure Rich Text Editor navigate to change properties of "Description" field by clicking on "Change Properties" button.

In "Field Properties" Dialog, navigate to "Controls" tab, scroll down to find "Rich Text Editor Control" custom control, select control and click on "Add" button.

Now, enable the control for target platform, here we have enabled for all i.e Web, Phone and Tablet.

"Save" and "Publish" changes, our "Description" field on Lead form is now configured with "Rich Text Editor" as shown below:-
